They just had a big story on the news about how kids today don’t do things outside any more. I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that most of the folks I know that camp also hunt and fish and that is not popular today. Kids are not encouraged to hunt, or do archery or anything that deals with a weapon. Also, if you want to go camping in the woods today you get to deal with the animals without a gun to defend yourselves from the coyotes or other critters out there.
You want kids to get interested in the outdoors again you need to go back to the old days where they can hunt and fish without being treated as an outcast for wanting to hunt or fish. Someone needs to tell folks like PETA and the liberals that Hunting and Fishing is not evil, and it is probably the only way you will save the environment since the taxes raised on them plus the love of the land they teach are critical for the environmental movement.
