File under Duh!

There is a nice Rasmussen report HERE that talks about how most people now think that DC is partisan. . . they think Obama is governing as a Democrat and Congress is even more Partisan than Obama.

Sorry, but what did you expect? Obama came in and has been spending like a drunken sailor and grabbing power for the government at a pace even George W Bush could only dream about.

Obama wants the government into everything - why would folks not like that idea? I wonder if that is why things are getting partisan in DC - you know, like the parties being polar opposites on how they want to do things so they don't get along.

The only down side is that the Republicans have not shown themselves to be any better than the Dems if they get into power. They yell and scream about taxes, spending, the deficit, and big government but they did not do that much better when in power. Although I have to admit Obama is doing his best to make they look good with his isane spending spree.

I think this will cost the Dems in the next election. . . I just don't believe that the Republicans have learned their lesson to go back to their roots and stay with small government and less spending. I hope they do but I don't know.

For now I am just happy I still have a job, and I can make ends meet even if it is not by much. I fear that Obama will put more taxes in place and quickly make it so that I can not make ends meet just because I have a job and he wants me to support more of is unemployed supporters. Get a job, and get the government out of my pay check.

We need to go back to the basics. The Federal Governments job is to control our military, deal with the outside world, and issues that arise between the states, that is it. I don't want them running my schools, paying out welfair to the masses, running Wall St. or any other businesses.

Let the states deal with the schools and the unemplyed, let businesses run themselves and the free market and lawyers will keep them in place. . . .and let the people live free like they are supposed to.

Socialism is Bad um’k?

I was reading how bad socialized medicine is on one of the blogs I read, TOTWTYTR. He has it right – it is a dream that don’t work in the real world. You want socialized medicine then you should be forced to live under it in Canada or the UK for a year before you try to bring it here.

Beyond that though Obama will be pushing a number of Socialist programs on all of us. I hope that Congress will stop him like they did/do our good Governor here in MA but we will see.

All of this leads me to ask the question “Why would any American want to push Socialism on us?” I don’t get it. Socialism does not work, look at Europe and the issues they are having.

More importantly look at US, the good old USA. . . . We are the last and only Super Power in the world today. We have the country everyone seems to want to get into by legal means or otherwise. . . We have a great standard of living (if not the best) and we have always been able to expect our kids to have a better life than we do. We have the highest level of technology around. How did we get these things? Not through Socialism.

This country got to be the great country it is by good OLD values. Not socialism, not “Christian” values, not anything but good old AMERICAN VALUES. We built this country by allowing people to take risks, work hard and sometimes even invent things - and dealing with the results. If you did well they you may make some money or even become filth rich – if you fail then you get to start over. People kept what they earned and only gave a bit to the government to run our defense and needed services. Key word here is NEEDED. The government did not deal with what you wanted – only what was really NEEDED to live such as roads and basic laws. People decided how much they could afford to give to charity not the government and these private charities took care of the poor and sick that could not care for themselves. People were responsible for themselves and their families and their actions. You broke the law you paid the price, no matter what your childhood was like. . .

Look at it from the other side - No socialist country has made it. The USSR was the biggest and best attempt at this ever and it still failed. It could not compete with us and fail trying to. Corruption is a natural part of life and Socialism seems to thrive on it. The USA had risk and reward and became a super power. The USSR has Socialism and “social security for all” and failed with the people only able to dream about things we took for common every day while many went hungry. Socialism leads to corruption, power grabs, police states, food shortages and lower standards of living. Prove me wrong if you can – I would love to know where it has worked past the first optimistic generation at best. . .

Our Founding Fathers built this country on the ideal that the best government was one that governed least. (Yes that means a small government that is not into everything) The more we move away from that model the more problems we have. The move problems we have the more we move away from the model. It is time to wake up. We are well along on the past to Socialism but we are not there yet. We can turn this around but we need to do it now. Stand Up, Speak Up! We need to make sure the government knows that we don’t want to go down that path. Will it hurt? Yes, but far less than it will if we stay on this path.

It is time to exercise our patriotic duty to dissent with our leaders and let them know what we think. It is time to go back to the old tried and true ways that built this country. We need to go back to speaking English, holding people responsible for their actions and letting them rise or fall based on their own abilities. We need to stop wasting our future and our kids future by spending like drunken sailors on things like bail outs of private companies, and nation building. Stop sending huge amounts of cash overseas to Africa or the UN or any one else just so we can feel good about ourselves. We can’t spend enough to fix the world. We need this cash at home to fix our own house first. We need to fix our own schools and roads and so many other things. Only when we have our own house in order should we even consider the charity work we are paying for in other countries today. This is a big world - we should not have to shoulder the load on our own. We should help when asked but only to the extent we can afford and we should never be running things in another country. If you ask for help then you need to put your own people on the line to do the work - we will work with you - but we will not do it for you. We will help you up but you have to do the work yourself.

We need to go back study the writings of our Founding Fathers who built this great land and learn from them. They did not want us involved in so many things our government has gotten into. The idea of a government this involved in our every day lives would be beyond belief for them. They did not want us sending troops and money all over the world to try to control things. They were outright against nation building and said so. They wanted us to have open trade with other countries but other than that leave them alone to fend for themselves unless they are a threat to us. They did not want us interfering in other countries except in self defense! (And in self defense we need to stop caring what the world thinks. You threaten us we will destroy you – end of discussion) When has it ever helped us to get involved in another nations affairs that didn’t involve us directly?

They had a reason for this. Lets go back to living by our Constitution and governing by it. We should be an example for the world for sure, but not by forcing it on them with our cash or military. We need to go back to being the country everyone wants to be like because we are successful, live in peace, and enjoy a good life with our children. We do this by keeping to ourselves and live by our own Constitution.

Lack of Respect

What is it with the performing arts and lack of respect??

Our karate school is on the second floor and out teacher was nice enough to re-finish the entrance and to let a dance school use the dojo on the off days. . . . We have a drama club for kids on the first floor. . . .

Well, the walls were repainted at the entrance and the drama school has already covered them all with photos of their stuff and put a hole in the wall. They also were difficult with trying to get the floors redone. . . . Yo stupid, if the place looks like crap it reflects on your school too . . . the dance folks left a mess in the dojo too with little strings and stuff around all over the floors. . . . Total lack of respect for others.

I remember when my daughter took dance, the damn teacher always ran over time and never said boo, not even one sorry to the parents who are paying the bills. She even scheduled a dress rehearsal that the kids had to be at on fathers day for the full afternoon and don't even get me start on what she charged for costumes, and tickets to the recital. . . . again total self centered lack of respect. I pay for my kids to go learn dance and get treated like I am not worthy to be in the room. Needless to say she don't go any more, I don't pay folks to look down on me.

What is it with the arts and thinking the world revolves around them??

I don't know, but it pisses me off that they are so smug about it all. I guess that is why I take some pleasure in knocking them down a peg or two when I can. . . . Sorry, you dance/theater folks are no better than the rest of us, and I am starting to think you are not even as good as the rest of us since you obviously missed the day they taught manors in school it seems. . . .

Anyway, that is my rant for today. So if you run a dance school or drama club, get your head out of your ass and think about someone else once in a while, I know it goes against the liberal way of thinking but just give it a try once for me. . .

Politics

OK, here is my morning rant after listening to the news on the way into work. . . .

OK, for all of you who want to know what will happen when (thanks to Bush I think it is a when, not if) the Democrats take control of the White House – Take a look at what Deval Patrick is doing to Massachusetts. This guy is a carbon copy of what you will get in Hillary or Obama.

Today he announced his budget for the year. In this bad economy, with taxes taking a big chunk of what we earn now, he has added almost $500 million in NEW spending. We can’t balance the budget now and he wants more? How is he going to pay for this you ask? Easy, he is counting on income from a number of sources including our “Rainy Day” fund – tap for $370 million, and $124 million from the casinos that we have not even OK’d the building of yet. He is also looking to raise taxes and somehow get $166 million in back taxes that he can get paid when no one else could. . . . When asked Patrick was quoted as saying it was his job to find new sources of revenue for the state? What the hell is he talking about?

As far as I can tell it is his job to run the state the way the voters want it run. It is not his job to ruin us all. Instead of raising imaginary money to run the state that we may never see he should be doing the hard job of cutting the budget to fit what we have for money. . . I’ll give you three guesses where all this extra money will come from when his imaginary sources don’t work out. . . . . Yep, more taxes on you and me, got it on the first guess.

The Democrat party is no longer democratic at all but Socialist. They can’t seem to get in their head the idea of a balanced budget any more than George Bush can. We are going to end up trading one messed up party for another and we will still be on the loosing end.

Governor Patrick, if you really want to be the leader you claim you will get the reduction in income tax the voters passed put through. You would cut state spending across the board to get it to the level we can afford now. You would tell the people of this state that we all have to deal with the pain in this economy and services have to be cut to the level we can afford to pay for with our taxes and still afford to live in this state.

We need a Governor and a President that realizes all this money they are spending is not free, it comes out of my pocket and yours. We need to stop putting politicians into office and start to put in some business men who know what it means to run in the black – an how to make the hard choices that will get us there.

If we don’t do this, if we put in Hillary, Obama or McCain, just look at the mess Massachusetts has become and you will see our future on a national level because that is what is coming. You can’t run a country on dreams, you need a solid plan and the guts to make the hard calls to turn things around – something sorely lacking in most of our choices this time around.
