Japan Reactors
I look at how Three Mile Island crippled the nuclear industry and power in the USA and I expect this will be a major blow to nuke power in Japan.
In today's energy hungry world this is not good. We need to find a way to make nuke power not only work but be safe. A few years ago I heard about pellet reactors that are not supposed to be able to melt down. . . . Where are they? We need to look into this so we can move the world away from our dependence on oil. Let the middle east go back to fighting over sand.
So I keep my fingers crossed that Japan can pull this one out, it is critical not only for them, but for all of us. . .

Araxona Shooting Wrap Up
"in a free society we’re going to be subjected to people like this; I prefer this to the alternative."
-John Green
I post this because John Green is the father of the 9 yr old girl killed by this nut case. If he can say this, I think all else is BS and the politicians using this to push attacks on our freedoms should just shut the heck up.
Now let’s see what we know now that a few days have passed:
• The shooter was a nut case with issues
• His own college kicked him out and would not let him back in without a note from a shrink saying he was not a danger to himself or others (Red flag folks)
• He was a lefty – favorite books? Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf
• He had fears of government mind control (another RED flag folks)
• He left notes showing this was a planned attack
• His weapon of choice was legal and would have been legal under the expired Assault Weapons Ban – sorry folks but that is the fact
What else do we know now that the Media is upset about”
• This was not a right wing plot
• This was not caused by Sara Palen or anyone else
• This had nothing to do with the Congresswomen being “targeted” by Sara’s web page
• The shooter was not in the Tea Party
• He did not have any help from anyone else
So I don’t see how any law would have prevented this. Had he not gotten gun he would have come up with something else. . . possibly worse like a car bomb. He might have just driven his car into the crowed. End result here is we need to stop focusing on the tool and stay on the NUT who did this.
If we really want to stop this kind of thing then we need to know why no one got this sick pup the help he needed, or had him hospitalized by force if necessary when and if he showed himself to be a danger to himself or others. Obviously the school saw something wrong, why didn’t anyone act on it?
This is not the time to attack the rights of everyone in this country over a mad mans actions. Already the Congresscritters who love to dance in the blood are calling for attacks on our First and Second Amendments over this. We cannot let them win or we have let the nut win.
That is it for me. My prayers and sympathies go out to the families of the victims and to those wounded in the attack. I won’t say more because the victims and families don’t need to keep hearing about it, I won’t help to make this nut famous, and I won’t help fan the flames so they can take more of our rights away.

Arazona Shooting sets off the Left again
She can't let this chance go by to attack our rights. She should be asking what caused this nut to do this and how did we miss the signs. Why was he not getting the help he should have? No, she won't ask about that because she only sees one thing, the gun. . . a gun is just a tool, and is useless without the person behind it that pulls the trigger
This is a bunch of BULL SHIT on the lefts side again. Note how they ignore the fact that the guy was nuts. . .
Note how they ignore the fact that this would be a gun free zone around the congresswoman due to their gun control laws.
Note how they ignore the fact that all the laws they have already put in place did NOTHING to stop this nut.
Folks, more gun laws would not have stopped this. At most you may have changed his mode of attack to a bomb or a car driven through the crowed. He was determined to kill people and spent the time to plan how he would do it.
We are dealing with a nut who wanted to kill folks, and he would find a way. It is time we stop blaming the tool and start to place the blame where it belongs, the guy who killed these people. We are learning that he had planned this out ahead of time. He would have done this no matter what you did to try to stop him. The only thing that did stop him was having to reload and brave people who jumped him.
Had one of those brave folks been armed it may have been stopped much sooner, but again, don't expect that fact to make the news either. . . . it won't fit with their lies and attacks on our rights.

Ted Kennedy has died
First I want to say that my sympathy is with the family. I have seldom if ever agreed with Ted on anything political but he was a person and had a family that cared for him. I hope the news media will give them the space they will need.
On a human level I am sorry to hear the news. As I said, he had a family that loved him, and I will admit he tried to do what he thought was right while in office (I hope, I will give the benefit of the doubt to him). In the name of full disclosure, I was against most of his ideas in office and fought against them. I think he lost his way somewhere on his journey and became one heck of a socialist on us.
On a political level I look forward to a new person in his seat in the Senate. I am sure this dumb state will put in another liberal, I just hope he or she won't be as far to the left as Ted was. We need more moderates in there that listen to the voters. It will be an interesting election. I admit I didn't like his politics, and have been looking forward to his retirement from the Senate but not like this.
I have seen what cancer will do to a person first hand, and it is not pretty. No one should have to go through that. I hope he is at peace and has finally escaped the pain that cancer brings.
Now on to the election. I hope we have a good race with a few choices. The Kennedy family has acted like they run this state for too long. It is time for them to step aside and for a new person to get in there and see what they can do to help fix this state and this country.

Cognitive Disconnect?
If he was so good (and he was) and they all looked up to him why didn’t any of them learn from him. I would like to know if anyone knows a reporter that they don’t know if they are a Republican or a Democrat? I doubt it.
They tell us how great he was because he stuck to the facts of the story and never told us his opinion of things. . . then they go and tell us their opinion and slant the news accordingly while leaving out the facts of the story. Only the facts that back the reporters view will be told, all others ignored. They have a political agenda and don’t even try to hide it any more. . .
I wonder if they understand how foolish they look. . . . “ We loved him, he was great, The way he did things made him great! We don’t do it that way now. . . .”

More Jackson Insanity
I thought that CA and most of the cities and towns there in are broke. . . the state is handing out IOUs for peoples tax refunds.
The estate of one Michael Jackson should get the bill on this one folks. . . .

Disney Crash
While tragic, and I am happy that no guests were hurt does it rate the front page on CNN?
What is it with CNN that they will run anything that trashes America or a symbol of America on the front page. They seem to revel in the idea that they caught America having a problem. Disney is one of the great American Icons, so they are quick to jump on them when something goes wrong.
I wait to hear what the find out. If you know Disney then you know there are many many safety features in the Monorail system and how it runs. Like anything with people involved things can go wrong.
My sympathy to the family of the driver and his/her friends. They have lost a good person, and CNN found another way to try to trash the US.

Michiel Jackson still dead
I think maybe Jessy Jackson is trying to look even more pathetic than MJ did.
Jessy, it is over, go home.

Mivchael Jackson
He was not the king, never was. . . he was a pedophile, and should have been in jail if not for his money.
My sympathy to the family, I am sure they loved him but as for me, I think the world and kids everywhere are better off with one less pedophile out there walking around.
I just wish the news would get over it and move on. He should be forgotten not glorified like they are doing!

Gun Control Fail
I am sure they are not done yet but when you need the media out there pumping out lies for you, then you look at the show's comments page on line and see all the pro gun stuff you have to think it ain't working any more. . . .
We still have a ways to go folks, but it looks like a lot of people are waking up to the fact that gun control has nothing to do with guns or our safety and everything to do with controlling us. . ..

Pirate #4
Now I think we need to keep him alive. He can buy his life by pointing out where we can find more pirates and then we can put all that nice technology we have to use blowing them up.
They now have the balls to threaten us for our actions. Thank Obama and his indecisiveness for that one. This should have been over days ago. I am sure Obama is all beat up over killing these savages. I don't care how old they are, they were old enough to attack a ship, they are old enough to pay the price for it.
So what do we do now? We need to slap them down and hard. Make sure they see there is no future in this. I am all for the total destruction of every port and boat or ship we can find in a Somali harbor or tied to a dock. . . If they can't find anything that floats they can't be a threat any more can they?
And for those of you who say we can't do this because of the need to get them humanitarian aid all I can say is too bad for them. The ship they took captive was delivering that aid and look what it got them. How many years has the world tried to help these savages and got nothing but kicked in the face for it.
Reality check folks. Some people don't want our help or our civilized ways. It is there country so let them live in it the way they want, fighting each other. As long as they don't spread the conflict to other countries or back on to the open sea then let them keep killing each other. It is not worth one American life to try to help them. Been there done that and they screwed us. Face it and move on. I am sure we can find other parts of our own country never mind the rest of the world that would be glad for the help and would not try to kill us for bringing it to them.

One for the GOOD GUYS
More HERE on CNN.
Took them long enough. About time Obama got his head out of his ass and let the Navy do what they do best and save a US Citizen. This should have been over days ago.
We need to react faster than this if we ever want to send the message not to mess with our ships.
Congrats to the US Navy on a job well done. You make us proud to be AMERICAN!!!

Pirate
And Obama - aptly named Zero is doing nothing. No threats, no retaliation. We need to slap them down hard for this or we are going to have more of it. . .
Germany is talking about putting Marines on all their ships. Seems the pirates tried to take a German Navy Oiler a few weeks back and guess what? NO GO since they had some Marines on board.
I say the time has come back for the old Q ship. . . . lets send in a bunch of cargo ships that are armed to the teeth but don't look it. Let them try to board the ship and blow them out of the water. Dead pirates don't cause anyone problems. . . .
I am also up for reducing those few parts of Somalia that are not in the stone age to dust, blow them back to the stone age. Since pirates need boats we should hit every port they have and destroy any boats or docking there. Limit where they can launch from and the few that survive we get with Q ships and Marines on other ships.
Folks, as long as you pay them to get stuff BACK this will not stop. You start to kill them all and it will stop. They don't understand anything else. . . .

Gunman kills 10
This nutcase had no problem getting a gun and shooting his family and random folks on the street. We need more good folks to have carry permits and a gun available to stop this crap. This is why if you have a permit to carry you always should carry! The best, safest option is an armed citizen.
Overall CNN did a fair job on the report until the end with reporting a 30 round burst. . . Ya right. I doubt highly he had any kind of automatic weapon so there was no burst folks, but it sounds better to scare the sheep. They will find some way to spin this into an assault weapon attacke even though civilins can't own real assault weapons. . . .
This guy was just another whack job. He could have been stopped if someone had a gun available to him to shoot back. Cops can NOT be everywhere at once. You can not expect to have one around when needed. Sure they will come quick if called, but what do you do for the minutes it takes them to get there? You (and evey citizen) should be able to save yourself and hold out until they get there. This culture of "guns are bad" is causing this crap and leaving folks defensless. Add to it the fame the media gives these sick pups and how they get egged on by the news folks and there is no wonder this shit goes down. Now they will play this up all week until someone else gets the idea to go out famus and do it again. . . . They should not run any names of shooters in the news. Let them die unknown as they should. Stop giving them what they want news guys, you are only adding to the problem!
I look forward to learning what they think caused him to snap. The down side is I think there will be more of this as Obama destroys our economy and more folks loose their jobs and the bills pile up. The Democrats want to have us dependent on big government - well where were they when all this was going down? Where were the cops? Seems they didn't get there until he was about done with killing all the folks he wanted to anyway. Cops are great, but when you have only seconds they are just minutes away folks. . . You need to be able to protect yourself in this world, you can not expect others to do it for you.
UPDATE
As if to prove gun control does not work there was also a shooting in Germany overnight. They have very strict gun control there - the kind the liberals here dream about and it still did not help. The bad guy got a gun, and with plenty of unarmed victims around started shooting then escaped. He eventually died in a shoot out with cops. . . The Munchkin Wrangler has more on it here. He should know as he came from Germany. . .
This from CNN on the German Shooting
Further proof that as we disarm more people we are asking for more of these shootings and a higher body count. . . . having someone already on the scene with a gun is the only way to stop them quickly, you can't wait for the cops to get there. Get rid of gun control, if it saves just one life it is worth it. Do it for the kids.
UPDATE 2
We now know what constitutes an "arsenal" these days thanks to the shooter in Il.
"two 12-gauge shotguns, a rifle and a box of 550 .22-caliber bullets"
Most if not every hunter in this country has an arsenal at home I guess. . .
The main stream media really needs to stop crying wolf and trying to scare people. But I guess that is all they have left to do - Lord knows they can't report the truth any more.

Boston Glob Lay Offs
Don't get me wrong, I love the Boston Globe. I get the Sunday Paper from them because I like the comics and the wife likes the ads they have. The rest of it gets used all week to start the fireplace. . . . What? You didn't think I wasted time reading it did you?
Miracle Landing
All I can say is I am amazed no one was killed or even badly hurt. Worst case I have heard of was a few broken bones. . . not bad considering. . ..
I think we have three main things to thank for this:
1 – The engineers of the A300 – it is my understanding they thought to put a button in the cockpit that with one push seals closed all the valves to the outside world helping to make the plane water tight. They also designed a plan that could float for a while if you didn’t open the back doors. Well done. Even though you are French we will give you an atta-boy for a job well done.
2 – The cabin crew who had the piece of mind to stick to their training and not open the back doors. They also got everyone out quickly and effectively onto the wings and rafts instead of the freezing water. . .
3 – Last and probably most important Capt. Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger who put this bus down on the water without flipping, cracking open or otherwise damaging this plane with no engines. This guy had the worlds biggest glider and he managed to land it on water in one piece. He then had the guts to stay with it and walk the plane twice to make sure everyone was out before he left the aircraft. Sir that shows guts! We could use a lot more folks like Capt. Sully in this world.
I also think a thank you is in order for the quick response of the boats in the area and the first responders. This event shows what Americans can do at there best. You all showed us what we can be if we would only live up to it. Thank you for your great example! Heroes one and all.
Update - I just heard that the pilot is former Air Force. Can I say NO SURPRISE? As soon as I heard what happened I said "any bets he is ex military?". Further proof that our guys are the best in uniform and after too. . .

Mass Child Molester gets away
Well as dad goes to face charges (only in MA or other liberal states) for protecting his kid the molester is a no show in court. . . and the cops are surprised. . . . really??
Here is what they said:
And while the father claims the incident was an outright sexual assault, there was an arguable dispute on the facts as the elderly man who could only speak through an interpreter, said he was “just joking around,” Pacheco later said in a prepared statement.
“It is unfortunate that there appears to be some type of public assumption that the police stopped a father from protecting his son and let a child molester go, that is absolutely not true,” he said.
“I’m shocked - completely shocked,” Raynham Police Chief Lou Pacheco said of Valerio Rodriguez’ no-show at
More on this HERE
Yah, he was going to show. . . . NOT. See the problem with this state and its open boarders and lax rules against criminals of all kinds???
Now this guy is still out there wandering around, and he has learned that he will have to hid his molestation better next time so he can get away with it. . . . just what we want walking the streets. Too bad dad restrained himself and this guy was able to walk away. . . . and SHAME on the cops for letting him go. You have not only not done your job, but you have put us all at risk letting him walk. . .
Catch and release, not just for fishing any more. . . .
Thanks

YOU are the first line of defense
This poor woman was tied up and threatened with death for 30 minutes before the cops got there due to Murphy's Law. 911 is great but it is even better to have a back up plan folks. . . . . .
Remember this story next time someone tells you that you don't need a gun or weapon or whatever to defend yourself because you can call the cops. . . . No system is perfect so don't bet your life on it. . ..
