All I can ask is GOD HELP ME!
My mother (Nana) wanted to take the girls out to a movie this afternoons since they are on break. . . they said no. I fear the older one (Now 12, 13 in August) is hitting the teen years attitude and I fear what that will bring.
Now I have been warned by many parents that have girls that this was coming but I still lived in blissful ignorance thinking that she would be different. We get along OK for the most part but I still figured that I would magically avoid the teen years problems and all would be well ( I can dream right?) . . . . .

I guess I will just have to hide in my one last happy place, there are no boyfriends yet for me to worry about. . . but I am sure time is running out on that one too. . . stay tuned. . .
Back to my happy place, I am in my happy place, all is well. . . .

Ah, but you are a gun owner, JD. This makes the dating thing infinitely easier when the boy shows up to pick her up and you are cleaning your hand cannons. My father did that to me. No shit. I plan on doing it to Katie when she's older.
My brother in law did that to my wife when she was in high school, really pissed her off I guess. I have been warned by her not to do that but I expect the first boyfriend she doesn't like that will change = )
Current plan is either gun cleaning when he shows up or a long discussion of sports and the years I have spend doing karate along with showing him the black belts may do the trick = )
Still not looking forward to it though. I want a fast forward or an easy button that gets me past college. . . ..
