Teaching kids to Fight Back

From WBZ on the web –

GEORGETOWN (WBZ) ― A local school district is considering training students as young as nine and 10 years old to fight back should their classroom come under attack.

The proposal is being considered in Georgetown where officials say they are discussing the idea, though no definitive plan is currently in place.

OK, here is a radical plan, how about just letting the teachers have a GUN like they did in Texas? What good is a fourth or fifth graders throwing a book at a gunman when you could arm the teacher and be done with it? I would like to hear more about it but for now I don’t think much of it. I think it will probably scare the hell out of the kids, then fill them with fear, a false sense that they can fight back, or both.

I want to know if they will really teach the kids to fight effectively or just throw things at the guy. . .If kids fight back, they would have to swarm the gunman to have any hope of stopping him. This will also mean that a bunch of them would be shot and maybe killed doing this so the rest can take the guy down. Overall I think it is a bad idea the way they will probably do it. I expect it will be teaching the kids to throw books at the attacker and not much else. . .

If we are going to do this right I want the kids taught how to fight for real, where to hit to disable or kill the attacker. Teach them what to aim at if they are throwing things. Teach a real martial art as part of the gym class, not this BS about throwing things at the bad guy. I want to see the teachers given the option of being armed. I want the kids taught gun safety so a gun it the room is not an issue. I want the kids to learn multiple routs out of the building so they can get out if things go FUBAR.

Also you know this will never happen as the last thing the left wants to do is to teach kids to stand up for themselves. They have spent too much time teaching them to be a snitch and that only the state can care for you. This kind of training would lead to self reliance and we can’t have that. Liberals want you to think the state is the answer for everything, and this goes against that.

Hell, here in the People’s Republic of MA if a person stands up to a bad guy anywhere the Attorney General calls it “self help” and has openly said she is against it. We don’t want folks thinking they can take care of themselves.

What do you think? There is no good answer for this issue but we do need to do something. Fear of teachers and lawful concealed weapons permit holders having a gun on campus is not helping, and only makes it easier for the bad guy. . . .
