Mass Gains population!

So the news today is Massachusetts has actually gained population (about 3K people if memory serves) and the Governor is all over it as good news.

Since the state is in a recession, jobs are leaving the state, folks are un-employed and can't find a new job. Taxes are going up, Government is spending like a drunken sailor.

I have only one question for the state - Who are these folks? And by that I mean do they work? are they here legally or are they what I expect . . . . un-employed illegals here to live off our welfare state and get our free medical that the state gives. . . . .

Somehow I think if you get all the facts this news story won't be seen as good news by most of the tax paying people of the state. . . .

Surprise Surprise

So all that great security that we were sold does not work. . . why does this not surprise me. The sheep were fooled, but not the bad guys. . .

Merry X mass the socialist way

Well it looks like Congress got us all more taxes and expenses for Christmas! How nice of them. Just want I wanted, more bloated big government and intrusion into my life by Big Brother!

You folks don't get it in DC do you? Does anyone look at the polls of voters any more? You do realize that most voters are against this huge budget busting piece of crap right? You do realize the economy is not turning around like all the propaganda folks tell us right? You do realize we can't afford this as a country right?

Ya, I thought you did. But you did it anyway for Obama - ya, the guy that is lower in approval ratings than any other President at this point in his term. . . . You did it to damage our country and forward the Big Government power grab didn't you?

Can't wait until next year. You think 1994 was bad with the AWB backlash you ain't seen nothing yet. EVERYONE hates this one folks, not just gun owners. . . .. Can't wait to hear the spin in a year on how and why you lost control of it all. . . . then Obama will be stopped in his tracks, with no Congress to rubber stamp his BS. We may yet save the USA - too bad you will be out of work with the rest of us when we do.

Strike One on Health Care Bill

Well at 1:15 today they sold us out.

The people we elected to uphold the Constitution and to vote OUR will did not do either.

Instead in the dead of night like thieves they voted on a "right" that does not exist and started us down the path to Government Run Health Care.

Sorry, there is no such thing as a RIGHT to health care folks. This is nothing more than a power grab by the Fed voting themselves powers that are not theirs by the Constitution and common sense. The majority of folks don't even want it now that they are starting to understand what it is.

Every one of them that voted for it needs to be kicked out of office!

I thought Massachusetts had gone too far a year or so back when they suspended a kid from school for bringing in a spent blank cartridge a vet gave him after Memorial day. . . .

 

Well, not to be out done, Taunton MA has suspend a child for drawing a violent picture. . . . .

 

Here is the kicker. . . .

 

The teacher asked the kids to draw a picture of what Christmas was (or something like that).  the child drew a picture of a stick figure on a cross and said it was Christ on the cross. . . .

 

Parents were called, child suspended for violent drawing. . .  .

 

 

I wish I could say I was kidding but it was on the news this morning on the way to work.  The sheep here are really that nuts. . . .

 

Can't wait to see how this turns out.  I hope the teacher is ordered to grow a spine and not be such a wimp.  What happens if a child with a parent in the military draws their picture with a gun???  do we expel them???  IDIOTS. . .

Christmas Shopping

I don't know what it is but Christmas drives me nuts.  I love the other holidays we have here in the good ol USA, but Christmas gets to me.

 

It's not the religion part of it, I don't follow that. 

 

I do enjoy the family part of it, I think that is what it is all about, peace, love and family.

 

I was almost in the Christmas spirit this year. . . . SOOO close I could taste it.  I even caught myself whistling Christmas songs a few times. . . .

 

Then I hit the mall - ALL OVER!

 

I am lucky.  My family does not really NEED anything.  We have a nice home and our health.  To go out and try to buy presents is a PAIN IN THE ASS!  I am glad I was only buying for my wife.  How she does all the shopping for the rest of the family is beyond me.  We don't have a ton of money, things are tight like everywhere so this just makes it worse.  I can't buy anything big (like I want to . . .), and I don't want to buy junk or dust collectors just to say I got her something.

 

Nothing like the commercial side of this holiday to bring out all the worst . . .

 

Well, I got her a few things, I hope she likes them. . . .

 

And I will again wish Christmas was more like Thanksgiving. . .  no real money to spend other than dinner and a day to spend with the family and friends which is all that is important anyway right?

What does it mean when the latest poll says 50% of folks don't like Obama and his policy's this early in his administration?

Is it even worse for Obama when 44% answered the poll questions that yes, they wish they had Bush II back in the White House?

Seems to me Obama and the Dems are in trouble. . . . Can we keep them there until 2010? Without them destroying the USA???

68 Years

It has been 68 years since the world had a major change. . . .  Remember what happend, never forget.

Very Emotional Day

I spent today at the dedication of a building in my Dad's name. My Dad was a doctor who helped to set up the Impaired Physicians program in Maine. He was the medical director of the program for something like 13 years.

Today they dedicated a building in his name and my mother and I along with the family were invited there for the event. It was a very emotional day. I had more than one person come up to me to tell me how he saved them from addicting. I was told by a few how he saved their life. How do you respond to that? I thanked them for the stories and it was very emotional.

I got to listen to a few more stories of how he helped so many and his work on the program at the lunch they had. I then gave my own speech about Dad and it went OK - they laughed at my two jokes and sounded like they meant it and I got a standing ovation at the end.

Mom and I had a great day all around and it is still sinking in. All I can say is WOW. I knew he had done a lot and help a bunch of folks, but it is totally different when they come up to you and tell you all about it. . . .

December already. . .

It took us years to get rid of him.  Will take us years more to undo the damage he has done to this country with his higher taxes, screw the middle class outlook and policies.  Do note that all the Kennedy money is tied up in trusts so they don't pay taxes like us little folk. . . .

 

Got news for you if you are running in the special election for MA for the Senate. . . . read the news paper, watch the TV.  People want REAL CHANGE, not Obama change which is more of the same. . . .  we don't need  you to keep going the way Ted would.  That is how this country got into this mess.  We need new ideas on how to actually - you know -fix it!

Betraied by the Senate

Well, there is a surprised. The empty suite that was appointed by Cadillac Deval Patrick to represent MA in the Senate to replace Kennedy is just spouting the party line and babbling about what Ted wanted.

What a bunch of crap!

Once again the Senator from MA has betrayed his trust and moved forward another attack on our rights and the Constitution.

This state sucks! We need to vote them all out and start over. . . .. Remember this in 2010 and vote out any one that backed the bail outs or this health care crap!

WHAT! Can't Happen in MA!

Jamaica Plane - employee was taken at gun point, held hostage as the bad guys took the keys to the convenience store he worked at and robbed it. They dumped him a few blocks away when leaving still tied up and blind folded.

How can this happen in MA? I thought all those gun laws kept the bad guys from getting a gun? Lord knows they have done everything they can to keep the good guys from getting guns. . . .

Could it be things don't work the way the liberals tell us they do? Could it be that the criminals don't care about gun control? Could it be that disarmed folks are easy pickings for armed criminal????

And so the debate goes on about trying the terrorists in NYC in a civilian court.  Obama loves this one.  He should be impeached for even thinking about it.

 

Think of it going down this way. . .

 

Said Terrorist now has US rights, so says " I will represent myself" and the court has to go for it, it is now his right. . . .

 

as mentioned on the radio yesterday. . .

 

Terrorist now says " I want all the information you have that will be used against me so I can defend myself, I also want the sources and how it was collected . . . ."

 

That would be his right in a civilian court, to have all evidence against him give to him so he can mount a proper defense. . . .

 

He can then pass on all the info he gets to his terrorist buddies so they will know how we track them, how we learn about them, and who our agents and friends are in doing this. . .  .

 

Don't think this will work?  this is how Osama found out about us tracking his cell phone, we tried a terrorist in court and had to tell him the evidence against him.  He ditched the cell phone and we have not been able to track him since. . . .

 

Of course we could withhold all this, then the charges will be thrown out and the guy can walk away free. . .  ..

 

Thanks Obama, great plan you have there.  Who's side to you work for again???

Pirate Attack

So the news this morning tells of another attack on the US ship Alabama.  This is the same one that they took the captain hostage last year. . . . This year they had armed guards on board and they shot back. . . guess what - pirates ran away. . .

 

Remember this next time you are told that being unarmed is ok when you need to protect yourself from the bad guys. . ..  guns work.

Someone please tell me why the Democrats are all upset at the Tea Party protests idea to burn in effigy Nancy Peloci and friends?

First, I thought the Tea Party movement was insignificant, so why do they care what they do. . . .
And second, they burned more George Bush effigies than I can count. . . what is good for one side is good for the other. . . . we don't have double standards in America do we?

Obama's Speech

Obama has once again shown that he cares not a whit for our troops, and that he is unfit for his current job.

Anyone who starts a press conference about a shooting at a US military base with deaths with a shout out to anyone has problems. . . .

And now we learn that one of the shooters is a recent convert to ISLAM. . . surprise.

Obama is not doing enough to protect our troops or us from domestic or foreign terrorists. . . .

MSNBC says Obama calls the loss of the Governors races a local issue and not a referendum on him. . .  Ya, if he believed that why did he spend so much time in both states trying to win them?

 

This is not a referendum on Obama . . . OK, if not they what do you call it when the key independent voters that put him in office now vote against the Dems?

 

I will give them points, they put on a good face, but they know they are now whistling past the grave yard and the Republicans have a very real shot at taking Congress and many more Governors seats back next year. . . .

 

Obama is One and Done and they know it now.  I expect we will see the health care fail to get the support it needs now as the folks in Congress scramble to save their own asses . . .  er . . . sorry jobs and start to listen to the masses so they have a shot in the next election.  America is nowhere near as far left as Obama and the Dem leaders think. . . . they just got the wakeup call on that.

Dolphins are SMART

Got this from a friends update on Google. . .  This is sooooo cool, and humans think we are the only intellegence around. . . .

 

At the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Mississippi, Kelly the dolphin has built up quite a reputation. All the dolphins at the institute are trained to hold onto any litter that falls into their pools until they see a trainer, when they can trade the litter for fish. In this way, the dolphins help to keep their pools clean.

Kelly has taken this task one step further. When people drop paper into the water she hides it under a rock at the bottom of the pool. The next time a trainer passes, she goes down to the rock and tears off a piece of paper to give to the trainer. After a fish reward, she goes back down, tears off another piece of paper, gets another fish, and so on. This behaviour is interesting because it shows that Kelly has a sense of the future and delays gratification. She has realised that a big piece of paper gets the same reward as a small piece and so delivers only small pieces to keep the extra food coming. She has, in effect, trained the humans.

Her cunning has not stopped there. One day, when a gull flew into her pool, she grabbed it, waited for the trainers and then gave it to them. It was a large bird and so the trainers gave her lots of fish. This seemed to give Kelly a new idea. The next time she was fed, instead of eating the last fish, she took it to the bottom of the pool and hid it under the rock where she had been hiding the paper. When no trainers were present, she brought the fish to the surface and used it to lure the gulls, which she would catch to get even more fish. After mastering this lucrative strategy, she taught her calf, who taught other calves, and so gull-baiting has become a hot game among the dolphins.

GOOD NEWS

It looks like folks are starting to wake up!

Conservatives took VA and NJ last night but lost NY House seat due to picking a liberal as the Republican choice.

Sorry, but that is the way it is. The Republicans need to wake up and smell the coffee today. They could have won all three seats except for the bad choice in NY. She was such a liberal that when she dropped out of the race she backed the DEMOCRAT! Folks, that is a failure to pick right there. She split the vote and gave away a sold R seat to the D folks. . . . .

And now it is time for the spin. Had the Dems won it would be a referendum on Obama and how much we all love him. The fact that he visited both NY and VA to push for the Dems and the lost is a referendum on him, and not a good one for the Dems either. When they did exit polls in both states it was found that over 50% didn't care who Obama was backing, and a slight majority of the rest saw him as a negative as far as who to vote for. That means that most folks either don't care or will vote against him. . . . not the god of politics any more Obama

Conservatives need to keep up the pressure, It looks like the Dems will be in real trouble in 2010 with a very good chance the Republicans can take back the House and maybe Senate too. We can do this IF the Republicans have learned not to put up RINOs in the elections. It hurt them in NY, I hope they learn from it.

As for the White House and Obama? I hope you see the writing on the wall! Your plan has been rejected by the people. I also hope Congress sees it and votes against this Health Care mess Obama will now push for before he loses control in 2010.

The People have spoken, and Obama turned out NOT to be the hope and change they wanted. . . Time to vote some new, true conservative folks into DC

NJ Governors Race

Folks remember this as you see the results in the NJ Governor's race. . .

 

·         Acorn has been helping to get out the vote with Absentee Ballots that they have been taking into Hospitals and Nursing Homes and other places.

·         They are not working under the Acorn name due to all the bad press they got

·         For an off year election  (not a Presidential election year) New Jersey is reporting more absentee ballots requested than for the last Presidential election.

 

To sum it all up, expect MASSIVE voter fraud on the Dem side, possible adding 1% or more to the Dem votes.  This is a close race that Obama has been pushing to win.  It reflects on him whichever way it goes and he does not want to lose. . . .

Canada has one. . . . it cost them MILLIONS to do and has only be used in a very small number of crimes.

It has been so expensive with no real pay back that the Conservatives and sane folks up there trying to trim the budge are looking to cut it. And it is working.

Gun registry's don't track the bad guys guns, only the good guys. . . . . why do we need to track the good guys unless you plan on taking them away????

Guns in the UK

well, HERE is more proof that all them gun laws don't work.

the UK has probably the most restrictive gun laws around. . . it is a island. . . . . it has seen gun crime go up by an AVERAGE of 89% in the last 10 years. . . some places have gone up by almost 600%

And to top it off, they are now starting to have cops do normal patrols with guns. . . .

And they say we have problems. . . .

If we are the ones doing it wrong, then why have our crime rates dropped? the more places that pass carry laws and make it easier for the law abiding citizen to get a gun the lower the crime rates. We have seen it here time and again. . . . .

Remember that folks when they tell you just one more gun law will fix things. It won't - but it will make it easier for them to hold power over us . . . .

Halloween

We had a great time for Halloween. Jack had his first trip out that he actually got into. He still is not saying much but he would smile and wave at the folks when he got candy. He had a great time and tired out my wife walking all around my friends neighborhood..

I spent the night with another friend shadowing the older kids so they stayed out of trouble. Had a lot of fun, especially when I showed up and they looked at us and just went blank and said " where did you come from?" . . . they had been warned when they went out that an adult or two would be stalking them so behave =)

The neighborhood we were in was very quiet on the car front and lots of houses, the perfect place to trick or treat. A good time was had by all. . . .

Obama Continues to Loose Ground

And it may mean that we can dump his pal Patrick next election and get a Governor that will actually try to fix the state and not spend all our money. . . . . .

But not so fast, even in Blue of Blue state MA he was unable to sell out his events last I heard, and he was met by bunches of lefty protesters. Seems the left is upset that he is not actually doing what he said he would to get elected. . . ..

They always said the left were fools, well, here is your proof. They actually fell for it, and believe a politician would do what he said. Now they expect him to actually do it!

Mass Madness

Today we got a good example of both sides of the insanity we call Massachusetts. . . ..

First, the news this morning on the way to work was all about the liberal nuts in Amherst MA who want to have the folks released from Gitmo live there. . . they assure us that they will counsel them. I am sure they are just misunderstood terrorists. . .

Then that got knocked out of the news with this one (from CNN). Seems that we had our own home grown alleged terrorists here that went abroad to get training and then wanted to shoot up a mall in the area. No word on which one. What that matters I don't know. Here in MA they know that few folks carry a gun and the laws are insane so they will have free run of the joint to kill until the cops show. And they had plans for that too.

We got lucky and they were dumb and got caught.

We have a state full of sheep, and we want to bring the bad guys here. . . then surprise, we already have them here. It is just a matter of time until someone takes advantage of how our "leaders" have disarmed us and made us weak. Just a matter of time.

That is why I carry, and now I will be sure never to leave the house unarmed if at all possible. No more running to the store without something on me. . . . you should too.

It is time folks, get your permits if you have to, those of you in free states, take advantage of it and carry. The ass you save may be yours - or your kids. . . ..

Dems do it again

Well, it looks like once again the Democrats are proving that they are the same as the Republicans when it comes to power grabs, just a bit sneakier. This link shows how they are going with getting the “Nuclear Option” passed for health care without all the debate the Republicans got when they talked about doing the same thing. End result is they will cut off debate on the subject and pass what they want.

I didn’t like it then (because I knew it would be used by and against the Republicans if it passed ) and I don’t like it now. This is just another way to force this on us. The people don’t want this health care reform as it currently stands. But we will get it like it or not. Further proof that both sides are out of touch with the actually voters.

I just hope we have the brains to remember this in 2010 and vote out the incumbents. It is far past the time to change the folks in DC. We need them to remember who they work for – the best way to do that seems to be by putting a bunch of them out of work like the rest of us. Maybe then they will learn that they are supposed to do the will of the PEOPLE, not the party. . . .

Gun Control don't work Down Under either. . .

Further proof that gun laws and bans don’t work. If the Aussies can’t keep guns off the streets then how is anyone else supposed to do it.

Both the UK and Australia have very strict gun bans, and continue to face escalations in gun violence as the criminals use guns to deal with unarmed victims.

Both countries are damn ISLANDS! If they can’t keep guns out of the hands of criminals then how can we expect to do it here in the good old USA with our very open Mexican border?? The real answer is that we CAN’T folks, so deal with it. Gun laws only disarm the law abiding citizen and do nothing to protect us or prevent the criminal from getting his gun.

If you want further proof that guns will still get through to the criminals then look at the drug war. For how many years have we been trying to cut off the flow of drugs in this country? And if you face the facts you will admit that we have not done it. There have been occasional victories and big busts but for the most part we have done little on this front either.

I think we are starting to wake up with the win in the Heller case and we will see how things go with the Chicago case. All over the country folks are slowly but surely returning to our pro-gun American values. They are waking up to the fact that the only person you can count on to be there and keep you safe when things go south is YOU!

Prohibition did not work, the drug war is a failure, and gun laws don’t work. All they do is create a market for the criminals and put the law abiding citizen at a disadvantage in dealing with the criminals in the world.

We are winning, even in MA

I spent the morning at the new gun club for the mandatory safety meeting. The surprise was that I was not alone, not even one of a few. . . . there were 16 or 18 folks down there for the class so they are all joining this month.

To make it even better they tell me that this has been normal since Obama got in. . .

Proof that we are winning the harts and minds of folks, even in Massachusetts.

The only down side for me is that my original club is not getting new members. We are still shut down due to the alleged ricochet. So, no new members for my old club, and we are missing out on this. But we are doing OK there too. We should be seeing the judge soon with the plans to change the lay out a bit. Hopefully things will be passes and we will get the place fixed up and be up and running again soon.

Chicago did not get past the first round of votes for the 2016 Olympics.  Maybe they want someplace a bit safer to hold the games??  Or maybe the great O has not gotten the world to love us now that he is running things after all. . . Anyway, I hope our Dear Leader will now come home and get back to his real job like trying to fix the almost 10% Unemployment or maybe the economy or such. . . . I know he was trying to pay off his Chicago friends with the games but it is not to be.

Chicago Gun Ban goes before SCOTUS

This is great news! Even the anti gun folks expect the court to toss the anti-handgun laws in Chicago and return the rights to the people that have been taken for so long. This will be another step in our taking the country back and our rights back from the government.

The laws in Chicago are clearly un-Constitutional and will fall. Then we can move on to other laws in other places. One step at a time, we will win this one!

Folks, if you live in MA remember to write your reps and tell them not to change the law to pick a replacement for Sen Kennedy.  It should be coming up for a vote at the State House in the next day or so.

 

They changed this law to screw the voters and the Republicans in a disgusting show of party before votes thinking. . . now lets make sure they know we know what they are doing.  Hell, Sen Kennedy even pushed for the change so why would we want to change it again???

Tea Party BIG Success in DC

The more I read the more I notice that the blogger pictures of the event show a HUGE crowed there but the news folks won't tell us how many showed up. I am sure the DC cops know so why wont they tell us???

Could it be they realize that the Conservative movement is stronger than they thought?
Could it be they can see that Obama and the Dems have already lost but don't want us to know?

I hope and pray it is a third option. . . . and that is that the liberals had the 60's and have been messing up this country ever since. I hope it is now our turn to fix the country and all the damage they have done. Maybe this is the start of the rebirth of a true conservative and Constitutional movement.

The folks in DC are you and me, they are common folks that have had enough of letting the politically correct and the liberals use big government to take their money and sell out their country to the illegals and the UN.

Can you imagine where we could go with patriots running things according to the Constitution? We could make this country great again! We could pay off our debt and stop taking our orders from the UN and our enemies. This has the potential to become a great movement.

The hippies had their chance to do us in and failed. Here's to getting things back on the right track and fixed. We will again be the great country our founders wanted. It will be a lot of work, but with a grass roots movement like this we are well on our way!

Remember

Today is 9/11. . . .

I don't care what Obama calls it.

This is a day to remember over 2000 of our fellow citizens and friends who died when attacked without provocation and when hurting no one, just trying to earn a living for their families. It was a low and cruel attack on a non military target that had no chance to defend itself.

We must never forget those 2000+ people had moms, dads, sons, daughters, friends and family that will miss them every day for the rest of their lives.

We must also never forget who did this to us and why! In the name of Radical Religion these innocent people were killed. We must continue our fight against the Radicals or give in to another attack. They would hit us again without hesitation if they could. The reason we have not been hit again is our Military taking the fight to them.

And so I say Thank You to our Military folks for keeping us safe, and to the survivors of 9/11 I say we still remember and we won't forget! Be strong, one day at a time, and remember that some day hopefully after a good long life you will be with your loved one again.

Obama Health Care Speech

Well, it has been almost a day since the speech and the results are starting to come in. He played a game, wasted an hour of TV time on a partisan political speech to his followers and did not get much for it.

CNN wants you to think it helped, but they don't say who they polled. Only that they were watching the speech. Most who watched it probably already supported him. I didn't bother knowing the key points would be on the net today.

We need to keep up the pressure. This speech was the act of desperation on Obama's part. He need to boost his polls and get this passed to have any chance of moving his plans forward. He is falling in the polls, and we need to keep up pressure on this to stop it.

Most of what he said last night were lies. We can not afford this plan, the Government Accounting Office has shown this. Don't buy into the hype. We need to fix things but Socialism is not they way.

Keep up the fight, we are winning!

Well, he did it. He brought up Ted Kenndy into the debate. You can taste how desperate he is to make it look like he still has control.

The people are winning on this! Obama is failing and his ratings are falling. Keep up the pressure and we may yet win this!

First I want to say that my sympathy is with the family. I have seldom if ever agreed with Ted on anything political but he was a person and had a family that cared for him. I hope the news media will give them the space they will need.

On a human level I am sorry to hear the news. As I said, he had a family that loved him, and I will admit he tried to do what he thought was right while in office (I hope, I will give the benefit of the doubt to him). In the name of full disclosure, I was against most of his ideas in office and fought against them. I think he lost his way somewhere on his journey and became one heck of a socialist on us.

On a political level I look forward to a new person in his seat in the Senate. I am sure this dumb state will put in another liberal, I just hope he or she won't be as far to the left as Ted was. We need more moderates in there that listen to the voters. It will be an interesting election. I admit I didn't like his politics, and have been looking forward to his retirement from the Senate but not like this.

I have seen what cancer will do to a person first hand, and it is not pretty. No one should have to go through that. I hope he is at peace and has finally escaped the pain that cancer brings.

Now on to the election. I hope we have a good race with a few choices. The Kennedy family has acted like they run this state for too long. It is time for them to step aside and for a new person to get in there and see what they can do to help fix this state and this country.

I still call bull shit. They have a bunch of proposals out there so they can play a shell game. No one of them has all the problems that folks are reporting. When you hit them on one issue they just point to a different bill and say that is not in the one I am backing. . . BS

Here are the big issues still out there

• "death panels" - pulled from some bills but when money gets tight they will have to ration care. no money no care.
• illegals - some say nothing (will be a yes if passed) and some say no
• Access to your bank account still on the table
• All companies have to give public insurance in 5 years still on the table
• you can keep your insurance until you change plans, then you HAVE to go public - still out there
• And the big one - add 50 million to the system with no new doctors or hospitals. . . . when the system can't handle what it has now. . .
• And lets not forget cost. The government system has unlimited funds (your tax money) to run on so they can put all the Private folks out of business then do what they want. Also under cost is the fact this will add to the national deficit, we don't have the money for it now or in the future.
• lastly lets remember that the government accounting office (the GAO) has said the plans it has reviewed so far will not save us any money just shift the cost to tax payers. . .

National Health Care - still a looser

You want to fix this then go after all the law suites that cause the cost of medical care to be so high because doctors have to pay a tone of cash to the malpractice folks, and have to order every test under the sun for anything to cover their ass if they get sued. . . . that is the real problem

And if government is so good at running things then why is Fed-Ex and UPS doing ok while the Post Office is cutting back????

It seems that he wants to make sure Deval Patrick, our DEM governor can appoint his replacement quickly so as to make sure Mass keeps it representation in the Senate.

Funny, this is the same guy that helped push through the law that said his replacement had to be voted on in a special election by the PEOPLE of the state. Oh ya, that was back when Mitt Romney the Republican governor was going to possibly pick John Kerry’s replacement if he won his Presidential election bid.

Ted – What has changed? Why was the old system of appointment of a temporary Senator bad 4+ years ago and is good now? This wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that back then it would have been a Republican making the choice and now a Dem will be doing it would it???

You and your double standards make me sick. What is it with Democrats changing the rules every time they can to suit them? Screw you and me, they change the rules mid play to get any advantage they can. Why do we keep putting them back in office MA? Congress – just a big playground full of children.

Over the last few days I have had a few interesting discussions on Facebook through a rather liberal friends page. Now while he is a good debater and can defend his position I have notices that a number of his really liberal friends don’t do so well on debates. I finally have recognized why they seem so familiar to me. . . . I am a parent and they act like children.

The one I was dealing with quickly decided to call me a libertarian and a constructionist (like that is an insult) because I wanted the government to follow the Constitution as written. Seems that her view (and apparently the only correct one) is that they should be able to “interpret” the Constitution to get what they want whenever they want – ie it is a “living” document that we need to interpret based on today not what the founders meant and wrote about when writing the actual Constitution. As soon as she could label me I could be ridiculed and ignored. . . . no attempt at intelligent debate. Probably scared that I may prove some of her ideas wrong I guess. . .

Now listen to me for a moment. We all know some folks on the left that can defend their stance and debate. Problem (well for them anyway) is that they are few and far between. Most of the liberals you run into can’t debate for crap and don’t know what they are talking about. . . . these are the Obots we keep running into.
Next time you run into one look and listen to the argument from the left. It is easy, just turn on any major news network and you will see what I mean. Now after a bit you should start to see that they are really just children in a grown up body. Case in point:

•They know what they want and facts won’t deter them.
•They live in their happy place where all their ideas will work as planned – don’t spoil it with facts please
•They don’t want responsibility – they want a parent (the government) to take care of all their needs
•When things go wrong they don’t take responsibility – they wait on the parent (the government) to fix it
•If you disagree with them they quickly get to name calling and telling you that they know better than you want needs to be done (and you are an idiot for not going along)
•If they start losing the argument they want Mom & Dad (the Government) to shut you up for them
•They want it their way only or they take their toys and go home (see close down Congress for recess, lock you out of the decision making etc. . . )
•When losing the argument they will resort to threats (see unions and thugs at the protests) to silence you
•If they do something it is ok, when you do it you are being disruptive, or un-patriotic
•If you want to do something against the rules, you can’t – if they do then the rules are bad and need to be changed
•If you look to be winning the case they tend to do the equivalent of calling you names and going “LA LA LA” with their fingers in their ears.
•Can you say Double Standard? Knew you could

So, based on this I think my new approach to dealing with liberals will be this – go at it like I am talking to my 2 year old. They seem to be at about the same level when it comes to intelligent debate and knowledge of our Constitution. This seems to explain why they look like a kid having a fit on the playground trying to get their way.

Scituate Gun Club

Remember, the anti gun folks LIE!

The folks that have been pushing to close Scituate Rod and Gun have finally admitted it. They have been saying for about a year now that they don't want to shut us down, just make sure the range is safe.

Now that they have lost the zoning appeal in town they are showing their real goal - suing to have us closed for good. They claim that the gun club has not been a gun club for it's whole existence and that the change to shooting rifles and pistols was not OK'd by the town so we should be closed. Too bad members that have shot here for 20, 30 or more years disagree with them.

So we are still in court, our range has been declared safe by the NRA and now we are going for a second opinion so we can go back to the courts to lift our injunction against use. Until then it is shotgun only and I guess I will have to look for a second club to join to keep up my pistol and rifle practice.

Here is to hoping that we are open soon, and a big BLEEP BLEEP to the folks trying to close us down. You don't like us then move back to BOSTON.

Once again the liberals have shown that they only care for themselves and nothing for the rest of the folks in town or the area. Remember, the club had been there a good 40 years or more before you or your house. You should have done your homework before buying and the town should not have let you build. Neither of these is the fault of the gun club. Grow up and deal with it.

What a joke! We are supposed to be so dumb that we don't know this is a set up for him? A nice soft ball and the media covers for him. . . . what else is new. Add to that the way he stacked the audience and the whole thing was just a media ploy, one big ad for his plan to finish off our health care system and gain more power for the Fed.

On the bright side it may mean that Obama can sense that he is losing this one. This is the act of a desperate person. Who would hide behind an 11 year old girl. And who would believe she knows enough to ask a question on Health Care. Please, at that age she will do what her folks say and think like they do. Just a young Obot doing her part for the cause.

I like it. With this and his falling in the polls it looks like we may be starting to see things turn. Obama may finally have pushed too far and run out of "political capital" to spend wrecking this country. It gives me hope for taking back DC in 2010. If we can just hold until then we will have a fighting chance of fixing this mess. The socialist may yet lose with a bit of luck.

Compare health care to public schools

For those of you who want the government to take over health care let’s take a look at how they have done with one of our other critical infrastructures that needs the best and brightest to work – our schools.

We get our public schools funded by our taxes and run by our government. Over the past few decades we have seen our standing in the important subjects like math and science continue to slip against other courtiers. We are constantly hearing about how our kids are not being taught what they need to in order to compete in this global economy and how they can’t pass the standardized tests. Thank you big government.

The Feds got involved and started to tell us what we need to teach each year in school. Then they called for the tests to prove they are teaching what the Fed wants. . .now our schools are diploma mills. Most big school districts like in the cities can’t get good teachers, can’t pay for good teachers, and can’t teach the kids, and don’t care. There are some good teachers out there, but not many. Most folks who want a home and a family won’t go into teaching because they know they won’t be able to afford the life they want If they do. The best and brightest may teach for a bit but not long. . . eventually most leave and go to private schools or private industry where they can get the pay that their skills are worth. Meanwhile the school systems won’t hold a child back because he may feel bad about failing so we just push them on. He can’t read or write but he graduated high school ok. . . .
How do you think this will play out with the health care? Doctors will be told what and where they can practice. They will be paid what the government thinks is fair. They will be allowed to run the tests and prescribe the drugs and treatments that the government will pay for. Welcome to public health.

What will this get us? The same problem all over again. Just like the schools we will lose most of the talent to other private industries where they can get the pay the market will support for their skills. The best and brightest won’t want to take on the debt of a medical education that they will never be able to pay back on a civil servants pay. They also may not like being told what they will study and that they will have to move to an inner city or the middle of nowhere to practice because that is where the government wants them. Would you do it?

And let’s look at the diploma mill issues. The government will tell you what you can have for test and treatments. If they work great! If not, you MIGHT get more tests or another treatment but most likely you will live with the pain and the lower quality of life. Or you might die and get moved out of the system into a nice plot of ground in place of the meaningless diploma. Problem solved for the Fed. . .

Lastly I want to look at healthcare as a right. . . it is not. Rights do not allow you to take from another or make them your slave. Put yourself in that boat. Would you do what you do for a living if you were told you will get paid what the government wants, and you will be told where you can work, and you can’t leave for a better opportunity at a new company or new location? What? you don’t want to work in the city? Too bad – we won’t give you a license to work at all if you don’t move to where we want and do what we want for the pay we decide. You don’t get the option of leaving for another company that pays better or is located where you want to live. That is a form of slavery folks, like it or not. This version of the bills in question will make doctors no more than slaves of the state – ya, that will pull in the best and brightest to the medical field. . . .

Folks, our system is not perfect, but it is much better than most. Does it need work? YES! But not big government control. We don’t want to turn our medical system into an inner city school system do we???? Things need to be looked at one piece at a time and fixed. We cannot fix this with a new huge government program that we can never pay for. More government is NEVER the answer.

When do they get the shirts?

He is paying folks on Craig's list to go to rallies and support his ideas. . . .
Dissent has gone from patriotic (against Bush) to racist (against Obama)
His news media is trying to convice folks that a grass roots movent is paid for by Republicans ( who can't organize shit and we all know it )

I want to know when they will pick a shirt color so we can spot them easier . . . . .

I love how the news is still pushing that folks are not really against health care. . . all the noise at the town halls is really a set up by Republicans. . . .

Why is it that when someone questioned Bush or a Republican Congressman during the Bush years it was only an American expressing their thoughts but now if anyone questions either Obama or Congress about Health Care they are a right wing nut?

In town hall meeting after town hall meeting across this country the Congress folks on recess are getting an ear full about their spending and the idea of Socialized Medicine they are trying to rush through on us. But the news folks don’t see it as debate, they claim it is just folks making trouble. I just saw a Calf. Congress woman say that the town hall protests are meant to hurt Obama and change congress. . . . How come when they did it in the Bush years it was because the government was going the wrong way???

I love the double standard. If you are conservative you are making noise/troube/ if you are liberal than you are a citizen voicing your views/concerns. . . What double standard?

If you really want to see the double standard in play look at the reaction to the Obama Joker poster someone made. Since it is Obama as the Joker it is racist, in bad taste and so on and so on. . . . they seem to forget that they did the same graphic for Bush. Big difference there – Bush as the Joker was seen as an insult to the Joker, a political statement and so on. . . . so make fun of Bush is good, make fun of Obama is bad and un-American.

What a joke the O-bots have become and how obvious they are. . . .

The biggest issues for me in all of this so far, and the most scary beyond more big government involvement in things it shouldn’t is the posting on the White House web page asking for us to rat out anyone that talks against the Obama plan. They want you to tell them about any email or conversation you have with someone that is against his health care plan. Facts really are stubborn things and the facts are that this is un-American and an attack on free speech! Lets get a list of people for the government of anyone that disagrees with them. Sorry, I am not going to rat out anyone for speaking up on what they think about the government if I agree with them or not.

Folks, they are in international water, they are easy to track, and we do the same thing with our subs all around the world. I think we look foolish to sit and make a stink about this when we get all upset if another country complains about our ships in international waters.

Let it go folks, it is nothing but a slow news day I think. Not like they weren’t out there the whole cold war.

Just be happy they are so easy to find and track and move on. . . .

Northeast Blogger Shoot

Well with all the others writing about the Northeast Blogger Shoot I am not sure I have much to add but I will give my report anyway and a few pictures. . .

OK, now that you see what was there (not counting what folks had on their belt. . .)

First let me say it was a BLAST! (Pun intended) It was great to see you all again and a special THANKS to Doubletrouble and his wife for being nice enough to have us all over again for the shoot.

I also have to thank Bruce for the stickers. . . a few more pro-gun bumper stickers are always good for the car. . . . goes over well in the Peoples Republic of MA. . . .

There was plenty of folks this year, (more than last year I think) and plenty to shoot. Personally I got to test out a few guns I don’t own (and never will with the cost of a permit. . .) such as a full auto M-16 and a full auto MP-5. I also gave a try with a Mass legal .45 LDA 1911. I must admit though that I spent most of the day either talking or shooting my own black power as it makes a nice smoke cloud and the water jugs just EXPLODE when hit by it = ) Much fun!!! I also got some trigger time in on my .22, Enfield, WASA and AR . . . Also note that a watermelon will explode in about a 20’ radius when shot with an Enfield .303. No not mine, but wow, no more melon. . .

I had not done much with a black powder before the shoot. . . well. . . to be fair I put 5 shots through it the day before to practice loading it and that is it. All I can say is it is great to shoot water jugs with. They had a number of 2 ltr. bottles and milk jugs full of water. . . . one hit from the .50 black powder and they would just explode. . . as in when the smoke cleared the bottle was gone. . . . that was fun. I can see what they say about large slow moving lead doing lots of damage. . . I also can tell you they take a while to load and I can’t imagine trying to do that with someone shooting at me like they did in the old days. . .

As for the full auto stuff. . . the MP-5 was great and easy to control. The M-16 not so much. I can see why folks want either a 3 rd burst or semi-auto on that one. It was quick to empty a mag, but hard to keep on target. Big thanks for letting me try them folks!!

The Para LDA was different to shoot. The trigger was great, nice and smooth but I kept getting stove pipes with it. I am glad I had a try on it as I had been looking at one a few months back before I went with the S&W M&P in 9mm. I am now glad I did. The LDA was nice to shoot but not for me.

I think we need to add a warning for flying brass at these things when you are up by the firing line . . . down by the firing line the folks with the semi autos and pistols were tossing brass all over. Every now and again it would start landing on my hat. Good for a laugh. Where else can you go that it rains nice shiny brass like that?

They tried to post some Zombie targets on the back stop a few times. They lasted a bit but once the water bottles started to blow up the paper targets just ripped off the backstop with the wave of water. . . very impressive. Jay has a few photos of the before and after at the backstop. You would think someone had roto-tilled the dirt in front of it. . . .

After the attacking water bottles and jugs were taken care of we moved on to what was left of Pikachu. There were two bayonet charges, one by the boy who donated the poor thing and one by JayG. I will leave it to Boarpatch to post the vids of his son’s charge, here is the angle I had of JayG’s. . . . and yes, that is a bayonet on a pistol. . . . . . When the remains were taken down there were still bits of stuffing stuck to the backstop. I don’t think you can tell from the photos but for most of the day nothing was holding Pikachu up but the holes and stuffing in the backstop. The chain didn’t last long. . . .

The other toy offered up at the shoot was a robo dinosaur. I could not bring myself to shoot that one as I always thought those were real cool. . . if I was a kid . . . anyway there is film of that one you need to see over at Lissa’s blog. It was moving when the shooting started (.22 only) and once it was down folks started to hit it with bigger stuff. It was weird the way it twitched with each hit. . . I don’t hunt so I am not too use to that. . .
