Danvers MA Teacher Killed by 14 Yr Old

This is both sickening and scary to me. . . .

A 14 year old killed a 24 year old math teacher in Danvers yesterday. . . no one knows why at this point and they are not telling us how.  Seems she was killed in the school and her body dumped out back in the woods. . .  BY A !$ YR OLD!!!!! let that sink in. . . .

I cannot begin to express my sorry and sympathy to the family and loved ones of this young teacher who should be starting a great career making the world a better place. . . and I can't help but wonder what will come out about the home life of the murderer.

Everything I am hearing is this was a much loved young teacher who was liked by her students and lover her job.  We should all be so lucky.

What scares the hell out of me in all of this (beyond the insanity of the crime itself) is my oldest daughter is currently in school to learn to be a special needs elementary teacher.  . . .

To think that teachers are now having to worry about students killing them is insane.  I know that the facts say this was two random incidents in a week, not a trend and our schools are basically as safe as they ever were. . .  but my parent side is going nuts over this crap.  An this all happened in our lovely liberal paradise of MASS where our laws are lax, your right to protect yourself is all but gone, and they will find some excuse as to why it is not the kids fault and he will go to Juvi Hall and be on the street when he turns 18. . .

How do we protect our kids and teachers from these sick people?  He was already in the school, all the security in the world at the door won't stop this.  If we have hit the point we need armed guards on every floor in every room of our schools we have really lost it.  This is supposed to be a place of learning, not a prison.

On the bright side of this one (for what it is worth) the kid is alive and in custody so we can hopefully find out what the hell was going through his messed up head in all of this.  Again someone snapped and he was the kid no one expected to ever do anything like this. . . . how do we detect these folks before there is a problem while still respecting everyone’s rights?  That is the question we MUST answer folks.  Our kids depend on it.
