Elections make me NUTS or Thoughts on the Election

I was told by a friend my writings against Obama are unhinged. . . .

I don’t know. What I do know is that I have three kids and this election scares the hell out of me. From where I stand it looks like we are in deep doo doo no matter who wins. I will vote McCain because if I squint real hard I can see a SLIGHT difference between him and Obama.

Both of them will be bad for this country with open borders, buying up of bad debt and otherwise socializing our banks (and country) one step at a time. More BIG Government we don’t need.

I want someone to take a step back and look at what our Federal Government is involved in and what the Constitution says they can be involved in. I think if you take the time to look into it you would find that we have let the Fed get into many things that should only be done by the state and controlled at the state level. We have lost sight of what this country was supposed to be it seems. Folks don’t study history or the Constitution any more like we should. Kids grow up not really understanding it and look where it has gotten us.

We seem to now have a nation of folks that feel they are owed things, homes, healthcare, jobs etc. . . . People are fond of saying “it is my right!” is it? You are not owed anything but the right to be free within the bounds of the Constitution. It is up to you to earn your way through life. Go to school, learn what you need to so you can get a job that will pay for you to live in the style you want to. If you dropped out of high school it is not up to me to pay for your house, you can rent a small place and deal with it. Go back to school, learn a trade or get a GED and go to college. . .

America is supposed to be a place were you can get anything you want, but you are supposed to earn it, not expect those who have worked for things to give them to you. And the government is not supposed to be taking from the “rich” to give to the “poor”. The government was supposed to exist to protect our rights, and be only as big as it needs to be to do that one function. It is now way past that and we let it get there. I can see a SMALL amount of government in the welfare area. We need to make sure folks are not starving in the street but it has gone beyond that. There was a time folks were ashamed to be on “aid” or welfare and all they wanted to do was get a new job and get off it. I have nothing against government aid to the ill or otherwise legitimately can’t work, but that is not who is getting most of this money. Now it is a way of life for many who could be working.

What can we do? We need to start sending new people to both the federal and state level governments. We can vote in folks that think small government and personal responsibility. We need to start to teach folks about the Constitution and the limits that are in there. We need to take responsibility for our actions. Will this hurt? Yes, but we need to do it. Fixing things will hurt as people are weaned off of the addiction of free money and big government programs. How do we do it? I don’t know, but we need to do things one step at a time and start at the local level so we can control it.

Here in MA we are trying to take back our government with Question 1. I don’t know if it will pass, but either way I think it will be close. Question 1 would repeal our income tax. This would be a nice first step to curbing an out of control spending government in these bad times. Things are getting tight all over and we need to stop government on all levels from spending like a drunken sailor to try to fix things.

I don’t know about you but to me it seems that everything the government has gotten it’s hands into tends to get worse, not better as the bureaucrats take over. We need new ideas, new folks running things, and people willing to do the work getting the government out of our lives as much as possible. I don’t know where we will get them. Who in their right mind would put their families through the wringer of the main stream media to get into office to fix things.

The media is part of the problem and needs to find its way back to reporting the truth about all sides of our government. They need to go back to being the watch dog that lets us know the crap the government is trying to pull on us and stop pushing for one party only. Power corrupts any party and the free press is supposed to tell us about it so we can vote out the corrupt folks in Washington or at the state level when they are found out but that is not what they are doing. Hey Media, time for you to go back to your real job and pick apart all sides of our government, not just the conservatives. There is just as much dirt out there about the Dems as the Republicans, find it so we can make an educated choice in our elections, not one based on the party propaganda. . . .

Well, that is my rant for today. . . I will try to be more hinged in the future. . .
